Encouraged my my artistic mother, I have been crafting since I was a little girl. When I was growing up, my younger sisters and I would hand sew dresses for our barbies, put on plays with aliens made out of Popsicle sticks and make clothes for stuffed animals in a closet under the stairs. My mom painted the back drops of our school plays and made our dress up wardrobe from old clothes. As I matured into a teenager, I was inspired by my aunt Marta who was an avid scrapbooker. I would visit her every summer and revel in her crafting room. Her spring cleanings eventually became the beginnings of my love with paper.
With a degree in History from Florida State University, I am passionate about anything old with a good story. Anything with wear and tear gets me excited. The way I see it, there is no such thing as a “worthless piece of junk”. I absolutely love antique malls, flea markets, and estate sales. Even my kids have really enjoyed rummaging with me.
Being a mommy is the most fulfilling job I have ever had. My children inspire me everyday. With the encouragement, love, and support from my husband, family and friends I am attempting to follow my calling. Those who know me can say crafting is one of my passions aside from museums and of course, being a mom.
